Note, we only accept an Enhanced DBS due to government requirements for the care industry.

Q.9 What length of time is the work I will be offered?

Ans.

This depends largely upon what it is you're after. You can set your preferences in your profile and apply for jobs that have timeframes and schedules that match your preference. Once you apply, you are accepting the timeframes and schedules given on the job detail and are required to work those times.

You are in control of what, where and how you want to work through the Temp in Care platform.

If you want to work term time only from 10-2 then that is the type of work you can search for.

If you're a student who maybe has a couple of days off per week then you can search for that type of role.

Q.10 How far will I have to travel to work?

Ans.

It's entirely up to you how far you travel. On the Temp in Care platform you are in control of applying for jobs where you want to work.

Q.11 What qualification are required to work for Temp in Care in childcare?

Ans.

There are lots of different qualification, by many different bodies throughout the UK so it's almost impossible to list them all. However, the more common qualifications are NVQ in Childcare/Education, NNEB, Cache Diplomas, BTEC, HND & Degrees. A minimum requirement is an NVQ 2.

Q.12 How does holiday pay work?

Ans.

The Agency Worker’s Regulations (2010) which details a worker’s rights, state that all temporary workers are entitled to a minimum of 28 days holiday a year, pro rata. As temporary workers may not have consistent hours. Holiday pay is accrued at a rate of 12.07 per cent of gross pay.

Although holiday pay begins accruing immediately, after twelve weeks a temporary worker is entitled to the same working conditions and basic pay, or to be paid within the same salary bracket as a permanent member of staff doing comparable work.

In terms of holiday pay, this means if permanent workers are entitled to more than the minimum of 28 days paid holiday, a temporary worker should receive the same if they have been working for more than twelve weeks.

However, employer benefits which are calculated through a payroll system, such as healthcare might not be offered to a temporary member of staff. After twelve weeks if a temporary worker is with the same agency they will be enrolled onto an autoenrollment pension.

Ans.

The Job provider will validate the time submitted. Please chase them if the timesheet stays as ‘Unverified’. You do not get paid if the Job provider has not validated a timesheet.

In case of dispute between yourself and the Job provider. Temp in Care will investigate the dispute and request evidence from the Job provider. If there is sufficient proof, the dispute will be upheld, and the timesheet amended by Temp in Care ready for payment. If there is not enough evidence, Temp in Care will reject the dispute and the original timesheet will be validated for payment.

All validated timesheets in a week, to Sunday, will be paid through payroll on the following Friday with a payslip. This can include older timesheets that have been validated by the Job Provider.

Note, you will get a summary of money earned through your validated work on the Sunday itself. This will exclude information about deductions and is not a payslip.

Q.15 How will I be paid?

Ans.

We pay you weekly, directly into your bank or building society.

All validated timesheets in a week, to Sunday, will be paid through payroll on the following Friday.

A payslip is sent to you displaying which timesheets have been paid, how many hours/days and at what rate plus any deductions.
